Give Yourself Some Grace

MY TOP WIN FOR 2023: This website/blog you’re reading. I planned to make it happen over the summer, but it didn’t work out. Then I started the process again in the fall only to feel like a failure. Getting this platform up and running seemed out of reach. Someone told me “Give yourself some grace”. So I hired a friend who helped me get my website all set up and TA-DA! Here we are! (Thanks to Michael at Firefall Digital Marketing!)

MY TOP FAIL FOR 2023: I wanted to reach my ideal weight by 12/31/23, however, I did not. I only lost about 5 pounds all year. Why? I’ve been distracted, focused on other things, and a list of many excuses. Today is a new day and I am pressing on to win in this area. I’m giving myself some grace. Will you cheer for me?

What type of year do you want to have in 2024?

QUESTIONS TO ASK

  • What went well?
  • What didn’t go well?
  • What needs to change?

I’ve learned that it’s necessary to review the plans I make to ensure I’m on the right path and to make any adjustments needed to succeed. The Bible teaches us to make plans, it equally tells us that it’s the Lord who establishes our steps.

Proverbs 16:3 – Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.

Making plans is one thing, working on the plan is another.

I fluctuate between making plans, setting up my goals and dreams, making lists, and reworking my lists as distractions and excuses come. Consequently, I waffle between procrastination and analysis paralysis. However, I’m learning to give myself some grace and to celebrate the wins I do achieve.

You Can Too!

Do you make plans, and lists, and write down your goals and dreams? Do you work hard to do exactly what you plan or are you OK if you get other things done instead?

No matter your approach, remember that Jesus gives us grace and He is sufficient for today and you’re welcome to give yourself the same.

COMMENT BELOW any area you need more grace. Do you have a goal, vision, or dream you’ve been putting off? Have you started something you have on your heart to do, but set it aside due to procrastination or insecurity? Let’s meet in the comments!
